🚀 Trezor.io/Start® — Starting™ Up Your Device
Welcome to the official getting started guide for your Trezor® hardware wallet. This page walks you through the full setup process using Trezor.io/Start. Whether you're a first-time crypto user or migrating from another wallet, this guide ensures a secure and smooth setup experience. 🔐
📦 Step 1: Unbox and Inspect
When you receive your Trezor device, inspect the packaging carefully. It should be sealed with tamper-evident labels. Any signs of damage or re-sealing should be reported immediately.

- ✔️ USB cable
- ✔️ Recovery seed cards
- ✔️ Instructions
🛡️ Security Tip: Never buy a used device. Your Trezor should always be new and unopened.
This is the official website to begin the setup. Avoid third-party websites or fake URLs. Verify the address bar and look for the secure HTTPS lock icon 🔒.
💻 Step 3: Download Trezor Suite
The Trezor Suite is the official app for managing your wallet, crypto, and device settings. You can use the desktop app (recommended) or the web app.
🔧 Step 4: Initialize Your Device
After launching Trezor Suite, plug in your device and begin initialization:
- Click “Create new wallet”
- Set up a strong PIN on your Trezor device
- Generate your 12/24-word recovery seed phrase
- Write down the seed on the recovery card — do not store it digitally
⚠️ Critical: If you lose your recovery seed, you lose access to your crypto.
📋 Step 5: Backup Recovery Phrase
Trezor will generate a unique recovery seed. This is the only backup to restore your wallet in case your device is lost or damaged.
- Write it carefully on the provided sheet
- Double-check each word and spelling
- Never share your seed online or take photos of it
🛠️ Step 6: Install Crypto Apps
After initializing your wallet, install apps for the coins you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin).
To install apps:
- Open Trezor Suite
- Go to Settings > Device > Install App
- Select desired blockchain networks
💸 Step 7: Receive and Send Crypto
Now that your wallet is ready, you can start using it:
To Receive:
- Click “Receive” in Trezor Suite
- Select the correct account
- Verify the address on your Trezor device
- Share the address or QR code
To Send:
- Click “Send”
- Enter recipient address and amount
- Verify details on your Trezor screen
- Confirm transaction
💡 Optional: Enable Passphrase
A passphrase adds an extra layer of protection. It’s an optional 25th word only you know. Without it, no one — not even you — can access that wallet section.
🧠 Note: If you forget your passphrase, Trezor cannot help recover it.
